Todd DePastino tells the story of an obscure shoemaker named George Robert Twelves Hewes, who played a central role in the American Revolution. Hewes’ life raises the question for historians today: “What Was So Revolutionary about the American Revolution?” Come hear about how Hewes and the country changed, and also a lot about powdered wigs, walking canes, and tarring and feathering.
