BSJC Serving at The Ladle (Ambridge Soup Kitchen)

* Need is very high right now. Our goal is to provide 175 meals for "take-out" distribution.

Volunteers are needed to cook at home and drop food off at The Ladle at 3:30 pm on Monday, July 27. Food must arrive on time to allow time for the to-go containers to be packed before the pick-up begins.  The Ladle is now located at St. John's Lutheran Church; Old Economy; 1320 Church Street; Ambridge, PA 15003 - just 7 blocks from BSJC.

The meal will be:

  • Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce

  • Meatballs

  • Salad

  • Bread slice

  • Watermelon slices

  • Cookies

  • Parmesan cheese

  • Water bottles

  • Individual beverage mix packages

BSJC is only serving once this year so we hope for this meal to be very successful!! While monetary donations are always welcome, this time we really need our volunteers to make the food. We are not able to have a group in BSJC’s kitchen cooking that day like we usually do.

* Because of social distancing and health rules from both The Ladle and the church, BSJC may only bring 2 helpers to serve. The Ladle staff will do most of the work. Helpers will arrive at 3:30 to help with prep, food distribution, and light clean-up and will be done at 6:00 pm. If you are available from 3:30-6:00 pm and would like to help, please let Barb Wilson know. Only the 2 helpers that are signed up will be allowed to help. Unfortunately, we cannot take drop-in helpers at this time.

BSJC and The Ladle thank all our volunteers for helping local food insecure families!!
